I had both red gongurra and white gongura. Both of the varities are good, but i heared that white Gongura is more healthier. White gonguraa has a little bitter taste. I personally prefer red gongura.
White gonguraa goes very tall..it grows to almost 7 to 8 feet, while red gonguraa stays short and branches out wide.

Where is the best source for seeds for these plants? I am also looking for Bitter gourd seeds for next planting season and white eggplant.
I usually get the seeds from India. This time, i am planning to make the seeds from the last yield of the plant. Usually, end of october or so will be the last crop and we will prepare the soil for the next season. So we will leave the last vegetable of the plant to set the seeds for the next planting season.
I also have a small group of friends that are very intrested in gardening and we usually share the seeds.

One more quick suggestion. One of my friend, planted the stems of Gongura that she bought from the Indian store, after picking the leaves she made a slight angle cut at the edge of the stem and placed into the soil (for better results you can dip the stem in root hormone to have more success) and it came very well for her.
