Pakora/ Pakodi is a favorite snack at any time mainly in rainy season and winter. When it is chilly outside, eating hot pakodis with some tea is my husbands favorite thing to do. My elder Son (pranay) who is 3, loves onions and I make this snack mainly for him…I love to see him enjoy eating it.
I think the only time pranay enjoys eating food is to eat a good fried or half cooked onion. He likes the sweetness of the onion.
Here goes the recipe-
- 1 big Onion
- 1 cup Besan/ Gram flour/ Chick pea flour
- ¼ cup Rice flour
- 3 Green chilies / Jalapeno Peppers
- curry leaves
- 1tsp salt
- 1 tsp Jeera/ Cumin
Directions
- Cut the onions length wise, add very little salt and mix it up with onions. Leave it for 5 min, onions oozes water.
- Add green chilies, rice flour, Gram flour, Jeera/Cumin and curry leaves.
- Heat oil in a kadai. Take a small portion of the mix at a time and drop it in hot oil, fry till pakodis are golden in color. Drain on paper towels.
