Hi Latha,

Nice to hear back from you and i am glad you tried and enjoyed them. I definatley consider your comment and will update my post, thank you so much, i really appreciate your comments.
Yes, you can pressure cook urad dal the same way as moong dal, no need to soak. The ratio is 1 cup urad dal to 4 cups rice flour. Enjoy them and as always, let me know how they came out.

Hi Pavani,

Diwali has long been gone but I couldn't get these out of my mind so I made them today. They turned out great. They looked gorgeous just as in your photos and they tasted delicious - crisp, crunchy and light. I followed your recipe exactly except for adjusting salt and chili powder to our tastes. I also needed to add more than 1/4 cup of water. One thing to add to your post, if I may, is to mention about covering the rest of the dough while frying a batch.

I know this comment is getting long but I want to ask you about using this recipe with urad dal (for next time) as you mentioned. Do you cook it just like moong dal in the pressure cooker? Does it need to be soaked? Thank you for sharing your recipe. I am saving it as a family favorite.

It is so hard to keep up with the speed at which you post! Not complaining at all, just saying. Your photos are lovely and your recipes have all the details needed to reproduce them successfully. It's obvious that you put a lot of time and love into this. I am going to try this in the next few days, hopefully, and I will let you know how they turn out. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
